After prayerful consideration, I decided that it would help in the spread of the word of God if I put some of the teachings that I have done in text form and make them available to member's for study or teaching.

All membership pages shall be reserved for current members. This will help support me in preaching and teaching the gospel to the world.

Some selected news and current events that impact our daily lives, as we live for and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will be brought to members attention. I will analyzed and commented on some of these items from a Christian biblical prospective.

From time to time I will present text of complete sermons and sermon outlines that I have preached.

I will present videos and articles by others that I consider to be of interest.

On occasions, I will include prerecorded video and audio of sermons and Bible Studies that I have done.

CONTINUATION OF CHAPTER II

Salvation by faith alone puts the believer in the same category with the devils.

The Apostle in order to show the proponents of salvation by faith alone, the error of their position wrote, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble" (James 2:19). Every one who thinks that salvation is by faith alone should consider that if men can be saved through faith alone devils would be saved. Unless and until devils are saved by faith alone, men cannot be saved by faith alone. All who teach and practice the doctrine of salvation by faith alone are going where the devils and the false prophets are going.

The Tragedy of Believing a Lie

In the book of I Kings Chapter twelve, there is an account of king Jeroboam, who ruled over all of Israel with the exception of the tribe of Judah. Because, he feared that if the people went to Jerusalem they would, as he said, "…do sacrifice in the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again to their lord, even unto Rehoboam King of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah" (I King 12:27).

Following the bad advice of counsel, Jeroboam built two calves of gold. He set one of them up in Bethel, and the other in Dan, and told the people, "…behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt" (v.28).

Jeroboam made priest of the lowest of the people, men not of the house of Levi, and he fashioned his feast after the feast of the Lord held at Jerusalem. He made sacrifices and burnt incense upon the altar to the calves he had made, and the people of Israel worship these false gods, calves made of gold, and sinned. It is recorded of king Jeroboam that he, "…had devised of his own heart…" (v.33), to set up idols to worship.

Skeptics continue to ask, "why are there so many different denominations and beliefs among people who say they are Christians? This is a valid question that deserves serious consideration. One answer is that man greedy to gain and maintain positions, and power will devise false religions, "of his own heart". People who have been conditioned to believe that one church is as good as another and that people of differing denominations are all serving the same God. Those who hold this view contend, "you go your way and I'll go mine and someday we will all get to heaven. People, who think like this, care little about what is written in the word of God on this subject.

Jeroboam, made his worship "…like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar…" (v.32).

The people, with no regard for the written record of their deliverance from Egyptian bondage, accepted the lie that the calves of gold were the gods that "brought them up out of the land of Egypt". Likewise, in our day and time people refuse to believe and follow the Bible, God's written record.

　

He Died Because He Believed a Lie

The man of God came to Jeroboam and delivered unto him the message God had sent him to deliver. The penalty for his sins was that men's bones would be burnt on him. When the man of God had finished speaking against the altar in Bethel, the king attempted to grab him and his hand dried up. King Jeroboam, asked the man of God to pray for him that God would restore his hand. The man of God prayed for the king and his hand was restored. The king wanted to reward the man of God:

And the king said unto the man of God, come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward.

And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:

For so was it charged me by the word of the Lord, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.

So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Beth'-el (1 King 13:7-10).

It is important to note that without doubt, this man of God knew what God had commanded him to do.

The sons of the old prophet that lived in Bethel told their father the works the man of God had done. After the old prophet found out the direction the other prophet had gone he went after him, and found him sitting under an oak. The old prophet asked the man of God to come home with him and eat bread. The man of God refused, at first, explaining to the old Prophet what God had commanded him to do. Notice what the old prophet said:

He said unto him , I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the Lord, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water, But he lied unto him.

So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water (v. 16-19).

If God had changed his mind about what he wanted the man of God to do he would have told him. The message that should be learned from this Bible account is, just because someone is a preacher does not certify that he is telling the truth. Preachers who are telling the truth agree with the word of God.

The New Testament scriptures contain the complete revelation of God to man, and he has promised that it will not change. Those who seek to change the scriptures by taking from and adding to it, as well as those that pervert the word by teaching false doctrine, are all under a curse of Almighty God. Paul warned the saints at Galatia "…some would trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
